Who are we?

Rooted and established in Durban South Africa, polka.dot.coco offers Proudly South African inspired handcrafted accessories. We are taking traditional design and giving these a modern and African twist.  We are inspired by using traditional fabrics and/or offcuts of various material.

We have made a variety of items over the years and have scaled down to our three core products namely: ties, bow ties and earrings.

Our products are loved throughout the country including Cape Town , Johannesburg and Durban . We do courier throughout the country using trusted courier companies such as The Courier Guy and Aramex.

Our neckties and bow ties are made from really loved traditional prints such as isiShweshwe, iNdebele and wooven cotton such as Umbhaco and leather. We do make custome made wedding bow ties for weddings and special functions. The earrings are made using glass beads, isiShweshwe, wood, cotton threads which we call cotton confetti.

Through awareness, we have been embarking a sustainable journey for the past 2 years.

Some of our accessories are made from sustainable materials such as cotton threads.

Not only does the brand trade via our online shop, The brand trades at various weekend markets and trade shows where there is direct interaction between the owner and the client. Our biggest highlight is introducing our brand to the client and getting to interact with returning customers, now that makes our day.

Over the past 2 years, we have started our sourced from different designers and individuals as part of their anti dumping campaign.

KwaZulu Natal - This is home. ise khaya la.

The melting pot of culture, different traditions, warm weather all year round. The pace of life is a tad slower and a little more curious. Our Zulu culture is what inspires us. From bright colourful beads to our traditional dance, food and loud laughs that can be heard from corners and down corridors, to the sound of children playing in the street on weekends while taxis pass by playing kwaito, gospel, maskandi or gqom music at the highest volume. never forgetting your neighbour who can play their equal share of music all night long. This is home - ise khaya la
